John R. Oishei Foundation Pledges $2 Million to Niagara University

“We are tremendously thankful to Robert Gioia and the Oishei Foundation for this generous grant,” said the Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M., president of Niagara University. “It is an honor to receive this grant and to have the work that we do supported by such an influential and community-minded foundation.”

The $28 million, 44,000-square-foot B. Thomas Golisano Center for Integrated Sciences will be a state-of-the-art facility to support cutting-edge integrated research collaborations in biology, biochemistry, chemistry and physics. The facility, scheduled to open in fall 2013, is named in honor of Mr. Golisano in recognition of his $10 million commitment to help underwrite the project.

The John R. Oishei Foundation strives to be a catalyst for change to enhance the economic vitality and the quality of life for the Buffalo Niagara region. The foundation was established in 1940 by John R. Oishei, founder of Trico Products Corporation.
